Washington Blade Newspaper Closed

News have come out that Gay Media’s Washington Blade has ceased operation after being in print for about 40 years. The company has also closed the Southern Voice magazine and the Houston Voice among other publications.

It seems that employees knew that there were some troubles with the newspaper, but they weren’t notified in advanced that they were closing down, so they ended up surprised when a notice posted at the southern Voice asked employees to go on Wednesday to remove their personal belongings.

Portland Marijuana Cafe

Portland is the home of the first U.S. Marijuana café, it is called “The Cannabis Cafe”. They are the first in giving certified patients this herb and allow them to smoke it as long as they are not in public’s view. But that’s not all, currently there is a federal ban for this type of activity!

The café could be seen as a private club, but any Oregon resident, member of NORML and with a proper card can go to this café, located in what it used to be an adult erotic club.

“There are about 21,000 patients registered to use marijuana for medical purposes in Oregon. Doctors have prescribed marijuana for a host of illnesses, including Alzheimer’s, diabetes, multiple sclerosis and Tourette’s syndrome.”

Oregon has adopted medical marijuana laws. As you may remember, the government told federal attorneys not to prosecute patients who use marijuana for medical reasons or dispensaries in states which have legalized them.

Oh… the market of sextapes…what a wonderful business…. Well, this time it was the time of Carrie Prejean, but fortunately for her, the “Prejean Sextape video” won’t be released, because lawyers have pointed out that well, she was underage at the time of filming.

That’s right Carrie Prejean has confirmed that she made a video for her back-then boyfriend, and she was 17 years old. The video was set to be uploaded in thedirty.com, but now it won’t be released at all.

Carrie Prejean has stated that this sex tape has been one of her worst mistakes in her life, and she has learned from it. Prejean seems to have thrived always in scandal, first were the Prejean photos, now this tape could help her sell her book “Still Standing”. This could be the same marketing strategy, Paris Hilton used!

Sweat Lodge Survivor Good Morning America

Stacey Spencer, 59, the sweat lodge survivor, talked today to Good Morning America. As you may recall, last week three people died and many others were hospitalized after they went to one of James Arthur Ray’s sweat lodges on a self-help seminar.

The participants paid $9000 and they had to stay inside a tent where they were denied water in the 120 degree heat, provoking vomiting and liver and kidney failure! According to Stacey Spencer’s attorney:

Mr. Ray created a death trap, and created a heat environment in that sweat lodge that was intolerable for human beings.”

This sick “Self help guru” created this torturing device to “help them cleanse” according to his own words. But how were people suckered into this?

“I too want to know what happened that caused this horrible tragedy,” Ray wrote on his Web site Tuesday. “I have taken heat for that decision, but if I choose to lock myself in my home, I am sure I would be criticized for hiding and not practicing what I preach,” he wrote.

According to new findings by the Nashville police, Steve McNair had another mistress called Leah Ignagni at the time of his death on July 4. As you may recall, McNair was murdered by his lover Sahel Kazemi.

Leah Ignagni talked to the police and said she remembered seeing an Escalade outside McNair’s condo 2- weeks prior to the murder, then she said the woman on the escalade followed her and circled her block a few times. The 2007 Escalade was registered to McNair and Kazemi.

Ignagni has revealed McNair spent the night with her the same night Kazemi was arrested for DUI. A new theory for the cause of the murder now seems to point that Kazemi killed McNair because she found out she had yet another women. McNair was also married with children.

Balloon Boy Charges

Balloon boy’s parents are now facing fraud charges after authorities considered the case a hoax, a publicity stunt. Sheriff Jim Alderden said:

“It has been a hoax, It was a publicity stunt done with hopes of better maneuvering themselves for a reality TV show.”

This is part of what reality TV has created, parents with no morals who just want to be on TV and make heaps of money exposing their families. Of course these Balloon Boy incident is a step forward. Balloon boy charges could be to go for prison to up to 6 years and a fine as much as $500,000.

Well, that’s the price for fame some people want to pay! Besides the fine, the sheriff could also request for restitution of the costs used to rescue the boy.

While the balloon boy charges are presented, there is also an investigation to determine if the kids are in danger.

Boy Burned By Bullies

Today we have the terrible story of Michael Brewer, the boy burned by bullies, another chapter in the history of school violence in America. Michael is just 15, and he was set on fire with rubbing alcohol in Deerfield Beach, Fla. Resulting with 80% f his body burned. According to authorities, this was an act of retaliation against him.

Five teenagers have been charged for this crime. Some of them even laughed when the confrontation with the officers took place.

The group of teenagers had a leader, which is known to be a local bully. They accused Brewer of being snitch for calling the cops in an incident involving a video game and a bicycle. Brewer tried to leave them, but they set it on fire on place, leaving him with bad burns especially in the torso and arms. Matthew Bent, 15, has been identified as the organizer of the attack.

This kids are not just bullies anymore, they are criminals and psychopaths! Michael Brewer, the boy burned by bullies is recovering at the Jackson Memorial Hospital’s urn center, where he is recovering from second-degree burns, let’s hope he gets better and those criminals get what they deserve in return!

DJ Seasunz Jaclyn Torrealba

There’s some talk on Twitter right now about DJ Seasunz, as a rumor has spread saying that the polar Miami club DJ has turned himself to the police for killing his 18-year-old girlfriend Jaclyn Torrealba.

Related to this rumor, there is a news article from the Miami Herald, reporting that a man went to the police station on Sunday and turned himself for murder after leading officers to the dead body in his car. The car was a Toyota Camry and was located in the parking lot of Midwest District station.

On the DJ Seasunz official channels, like his Facebook account, there are no updates on this information. Some people are saying that Torrealba family has confirmed the news but nothing official yet. In the meantime, many people on Twitter are posting condolences to Jaclyn Elisse Torrealba’s family.

Mark Laneve Leaves GM

Mark Laneve, who works as head of GM Us sales has resigned and will leave the company on October 15th. In September 2004 Laneve was appointed as GM North America vice president of advertising and marketing.

Perhaps he didn’t resigned but was fired? Over the last few years we have seen how General Motors has gone down like a fired-down plane. A reason for Mark Laneve departure might be that the company is looking for new faces and a fresh attitude in this charge.

GM has not announced yet who will be succeeding Mark Laneve in GM, it not known also if the position will be held by someone from inside or outside the company. Fritz Henderson sent an email to GM employees talking about Mark Laneve’s departure:

Atlanta Flooding

Torrential downpours overnight in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia, led to floods that killed two people, a spokeswoman for the Georgia Emergency Management Agency said Monday.

Another person was reported missing, said Dena Brummer.

“Conditions are dangerous,” she said about the waters, which have left most of metro Atlanta subject to flash floods. “We are encouraging people to stay at home and to stay off the roads if they can.”

Brummer said “numerous search and rescue efforts” have been carried out in Carroll, Douglas and Paulding counties along the Interstate 20 corridor west of Atlanta.

Click on the link leading to the examination results, then find the range of bar applicant numbers that your number falls within and click on the corresponding link. Your number is listed as the “file number” on correspondence sent to you by the board. If the file number on your correspondence starts with an “A” or a “B”, it is an old number and you need to find more recent correspondence. If you cannot locate any correspondence from the board and therefore cannot locate your file number, do not call the board or the Florida Supreme Court, as that information is never given out over the phone. You will have to await your results by U.S. mail.

Raymond Clark III Facebook | Raymond Clark Arrest!

A muscular Yale lab technician was arrested and charged with murder Thursday morning in the slaying of grad student Annie Le, authorities said. He is the only suspect on this case, and police have studied diefferent evidence. Meanwhile, the search for Raymond Clark III Facebook has skyrocketed.

Raymond Clark 3rd, his head bowed, was led out of a Super 8 Motel in handcuffs and placed in an unmarked police car about 8:30 a.m. Traffic was halted on two major boulevards outside the Cromwell, Conn., motel as Clark was transported to the New Haven police stationhouse.

His bond was set at $3 million.

“Based on numerous interviews, forensic evidence, and information learned from viewing video surveillance, detectives have secured the arrest warrant for Clark,” New Haven Police Chief James Lewis said.

Lewis said Le, 24, was not sexually assaulted. He called her strangulation death a case of “workplace violence,” but would not elaborate on what might have triggered the attack.

There are no other suspects, Lewis added.

The New Haven Register reported that authorities have linked DNA from Clark, 24, who worked in the same Yale building as Le, to the murder.

Undercover investigators were massed in the parking lot overnight - and one motorist passing by shouted, “Get him, get him!” at police.

In the wake of the accusations against Le, a former high school girlfriend’s of Clark has stepped forward and disclosed an instance of forcible sex with Clark. The woman declined to press charges at the time, but says on her Facebook account that the new accusations against Clark are bringing up painful memories for her.
