Dahn Yoga Cult
The Dahn Yoga cult is on the spotlight after an episode of “Secret Lives of Women” aired on We TV. In this episode we have the opportunity to meet Amy Shipley, a girl who got into Dahn Yoga just like you would enter any yoga class. However things were not as they seemed to be…
Shipley attended a Dahn Yoga retreat called Wellspring retreat, in order to treat the psychological damage she went through after leaving the group. And well, this is not your common addicting yoga class! Check out what is included once you enter this much criticized group:
First, they separate you from your family. As a matter of fact they asked Shipley: “Amy, what has your family done for you?”, now they did not set any rule, but they made separation real after many implied messages. Then she had to wake up every morning at 6 a.m. to promote the Yoga group. She was given flyers to distribute -this is a common tactic used by these groups to keep you in an altered state. Finally she was required to be -too much-devoted to the course, to the point of screaming so she could not speak.
An interesting workout indeed! But this is beyond reason. Check out a clip from the Dahn yoga episode:
