Cat poo coffee has reached New York! There is a coffee shop in New York called Port Rico, which serves a delicacy known as “Kopi Luwak”, made from coffee beans taken out of feces from a mammal very similar to a cat called civet.

When the cat processes the coffee beans in their stomach, they add enzymes that break down the coffee, adding an incredible taste, according to connoisseurs. This whole process also makes it an expensive coffee, costing you $30 a cup and a pound of these beans can go up to $400! That’s right; you pay a lot more for poo-based food.

Peter Longo, owner of Porto Rico said: “At first I did not want to take it on. I thought it was kind of dirty because of where it comes from,”
