Users of social networking site Facebook beware! There is a new rogue application travelling the profiles of Facebook called Koobface that steals personal information.  It is the fourth type of Facebook application that has hit the site in a week.

The Koobface worm virus is spread via messages.  Usually a user will receive a message from one of their friends on Facebook. When you open it you see what appears ot be a video, and then you’ll see an Install button.

DO NOT CLICK IT because when you do you receive a file called setup.exe that when executed installs the dangerous computer worm and send cookie info to a remote server. Koobface has been also found on other similar sites so take the necessary precautions and as a rule don’t install anything you don’t know 100% what it is, especially if it comes from a strange message.
