Today, David Beckham had an Achilles tendon surgery, but despite being successful, it seems the recovery period will put the soccer star out of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. According to the doctor who performed the surgery, David Beckham’s Achilles tendon was “totally torn”.

Surgeon Dr. Sakari Orava said Beckham “will have to take it very easy during the next two to three weeks or a month and then he will continue with a recuperation program slowly.”
Additionally he won’t be able to put his foot under too much strain for around 3 months until it is completely healed. Beckham ended up injured yesterday in the final minutes of AC Milan’s win over Chievo.
