Facebook Indexing Google – Web Privacy Issues
Web privacy is the concern of many people, and now there is a new controversy as Facebook has announced new changes in their privacy policy. If you have logged in into your account you may have noticed an announcement of the changes. Among them is that Google will be crawling Facebook pages and yes that includes everything you post.
For those who want Internet privacy, here’s what you need to do ASAP (taken from Examiner):
“When you access your Privacy Settings you’ll see: Profile Information, Contact Information, Applications and Websites, Search, and Block List. Choose Search to control how search engines will interact with your Facebook page. Under search you’ll see the option “Allow Indexing”. If you would like to keep your Facebook page private, uncheck this box.”
