Here you can find day 6 US Open tennis 2009 results! The results from the US Open of Saturday, September 5 brought some surprises.  To start, top tennis player Dinara Safina was booted from the women’s bracket and Maria Sharapova lost her match, on the men’s tennis side, Andy Roddick was eliminated and smaller names dominated the competition.

Roddick, as you may remember, reached the Wimbledon finals and lost to super tennis player Roger Federer, but here on the US Open he didn’t shine and lost a match against John Isner. By the way Federer had a bit of a tough time playing against Lleyton Hewitt who was ready to put up a fight, but Federer finally beat him with his superior skills. Among player adancing to the next round are Djokovic, Davydenko, Verdasco, Soderling, Robredo and Stepanek.

On the women’s side, top ranked Dinara Safina was eliminated from the competition by Petra Kvitova.  It seems Safina will lose her number 1 position after the tournament…Sharapova was also eliminated by 17-year old Melanie Oudin.
