Brett Johnson death takes the world of Dallas TV by surprise; he died today at 48 after complications with pancreatitis at Fort Worth hospital. Brett was a veteran reporter for NBC 5 where he worked since 1996.

Brett was a big fan of the Texas culture and it was always said that “he was more comfortable wearing a cowboy hat than wearing a suit”. He became famous presenting feature sotries, and he really seemed to excel in features related to music.

From NBC Dallas we get the following:
He interviewed the biggest names like Willie Nelson and ZZ Top.
One of his favorite stories took him to Luckenbach, the tiny Texas town made famous in the song by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.
“Yes, folks, it really does exist,” Brett reported.

THE DEATH OF BRETT JOHNSON IS A TRAGEDY! I FOR ONE WILL MISS HIS PRESENCE ON THE NEWS. I WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND MY SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS, HE WILL BE SORELY MISSED. GOD BLESS HIM AND TAKE BRETT AND HIS FAMILY INTO HIS ARMS AND COMFORT THEM….HIS JOB WAS OVER IN THIS WORLD,HE HAS MOVED ON TO A FAR BETTER PLACE.
