OK Magazine has published a controversial photo of Michael Jackson in its cover. The picture, you may have seen it in this blog, is the first picture that came out showing Michael on the ambulance - in this photo, Michael was already dead, since paramedics were unable to revive him.
Right now there is a petition underway to stop the circulation of this magazine, as it is seen that disrespects the memory of one of the greatest stars in music. However, in defense of the magazine came in front the editorial director, Sarah Ivens, who said:
“It’s a photo that captures the surprise and the upset and the moment of this breaking news story . . . I hope the cover will provoke readers. It celebrated the man, but it also does expose that he was an eccentric character who lived a very controversial life.”

No, we definitely do not need to see this. I can’t believe anyone would snoop to this level to get higher sales!

Hasn’t he had enough? After all these years he clearly was tired of the media always after him… like the songs he sang “Tabloid Junkie” and “Leave Me Alone” OK Magazine did the exact opposite of that…this is a man we will always remember on stage, a man we grew up practicing his dance moves, a man we will remember laughing, smiling, dancing, being sad, being human!….why would we want to remember an image of him dead? I mean seriously? Why? Hasn’t the world suffered enough with such a great loss especially for his family? Will he ever deserve a break? For the love of God let him be in peace! I understand the media is doing their job..and the world craves off new information about him….but why must it be a photo of him being rushed to the hospital? We saw the news…we know what’s going on…we don’t need the last visual of Michael! NOT LIKE THAT, NOT EVER! NO ONE SHOULD EVER DESERVE A PHOTO LIKE THIS…NOT EVEN YOU! In the words of Michael….”You’re so damn disrespectable”

The man was a pedophile and a drug addict. Why does everyone overlook this?
He was a brilliant man once, but he was a twisted man and this is the end he scripted for himself. He most probably died as a result of a Demerol injection administered 30 minutes before his death. An accidental overdose which can stop the heart.
This is a better end than the bankruptcy which was facing him and the jail time which would have inevitably caught up with him for molesting children when he no longer had high dollar attorneys and money to buy his way out of it. He would not have survived poverty or jail with his extreme eccentricities.
At least he can’t molest any more children and perhaps, with him gone, his own “children” can get therapy and lead reasonably normal lives. If you are going to mourn anything, mourn the little boy he started out to be and whatever damage was done to him to create this perverse adult.

This picture has been seen all over the web, TV or inside several magazines around the globe, so why not put it on the covers? To me it makes no difference and is equally disrespectful. This gossip rag simply employs voyeurism.
