Zicam Recall | Zicam Side Effects
Zicam Recall! This is a drug that was part of the Matrixx Initatives to battle cold, flu and allergies. The main concern that motivated the recall was related to Zicam side effects.
According to the FDA, Zicam can cause permanent damage to the sense of smell in people. Over the last 10 years, 10 consumers have reported a long term loss of smell, and n some cases this long-term evolve to permanent! Although there is not clear information from the part of Matrixx Initiatives, it seems that the recall is more focused on nasal sprays. This is a major recall.
It is incredible how many products we use that can have negative side effects like Zicam without us even knowing. There is even the case of one person who suffered extreme burning in the nasal passage!
Zicam website has no info on the Zicam recall, but there is a clear FDA warning. Stop using this product. That’s why I say always opt for natural alternatives!

Zicam is supposed to be a natural alternative.

Zicam is definitely a dangerous risk. It has caused hundreds if not thousands of people to lose their sense of smell.

Ridiculous.
Zicam is a school teacher’s friend in the winter months.
I wouldn’t be surprised if drug companies who sell antibiotics are behind this one.
While a cold and sinus infection are not the same, a cold gone unchecked can turn into a sinus infection often.
I think it is a scam on the part of the drug companies.
