Claudia Mejia Edwards Settlement
Claudia Mejia Edwards’s case is a horrible case of things gone wrong in the hospital. Mejia is 27 and she was pregnant, so she went to the hospital and delivered her baby.
That’s when things started going wrong in the Orlando Regional South Seminole Hospital.
After she gave birth to her son Matthew, she got infected with a flesh eating bacteria called Group A Streptococcal infection. As a result of this infection, Claudia Mejia lost her 4 limbs, and now she is unable even to give a proper hug to her son.
After 4 years of legal battles, it seems that Claudia Mejia Edwards case ended up in settlement between her and the hospital for a sum of money that has not been revealed, although well, no money can bring back her limbs.
