Mark Herzlich Ewing’s Sarcoma - Boston College linebacker, Mark Herzlich has revealed that he’s been suffering from Ewing’s Sarcoma. He found out about this condition after feeling some pain on the left leg.
Ewing’s Sarcoma is a type of malignant tumor that appears on soft tissue or bone. Herzlich talks about his reaction to the bad news:
“Obviously I was shocked; I had been extremely focused on preparing for my senior season at Boston College and for life beyond that. Now I must channel all that energy into facing my toughest opponent yet, and that is exactly what I will do.”
Herzlich has not yet decided with the doctors on the best treatment to follow in order to treat the cancer. The news also shocked his coach and team. They all support him and know that he will face adversity with strength and integrity.
