Kal Penn White House - Actor Kal Penn, who recently worked in the popular TV series “House” has scored a new job in the White House!

Kal Penn White House job will be of associate director in the Office of Public Liaison according to administration officials. The actor will be emissary to the Pacific Islander and Asian-American communities.

Kal got the chance to talk about his designation to work for Barack Obama:

“I was incredibly honored a couple of months ago to get the opportunity to go work in the White House,” Penn said. “I got to know the President and some of the staff during the campaign and had expressed interest in working there.”

“They take out all of the re tape that falls between the general public and the White House,” he said. “It’s similar to what I was doing on the campaign.”

“There’s not a lot of financial reward in these jobs,” he said. “But, obviously, the opportunity to serve in a capacity like this is an incredible honor.”

What happened to his character in “House” well…he inexplicably committed suicide! Kal Penn also talked about this shocking scene for fans of the series:

“[I found it] incredibly violent and incredibly depressing thing that happens to my character.”

Let’s hope Kal Penn does well with his new job in the White House for Obama.
