Bikini Wax Ban in New Jersey

Bikini wax ban plans where ditched in New Jersey after it was proposed by the Cosmetology and Hairstyling Board. The incidents that triggered the plan for a bikini wax ban were two infections that caused two women to be hospitalized – one of them filed a lawsuit.

However the bikini wax ban did not have great support, especially from salon owners who complained about losing business now that the sun starts coming out. You see, bikini waxing has become very popular!

David Szuchman, director of consumer affairs was against the bikini wax ban:

“Many commenters have noted that the procedure can be safely performed. I, therefore, believe that there are alternate means to address any public health issues identified by the board,”

Spa owner Lisa Orsuto also spoke out:

“In New Jersey especially, where the government has been picking our pockets for so long, it was like: ‘Just stay out of our pants, will you?’”

That’s right folks, hear the cry of thousands: no bikini wax ban!
