Phoebe Snow DNA Test – I’m Not Black!
Phoebe Snow is confused and upset. She has been recently named one of the “black music industry greats” by a magazine, but well… here’s the problem: she is not black! Many people think she is, but the reality is that she can go as far as having a DNA test to prove her ethnicity. Now, she doesn’t have a racist end in mind, but she feels most people are wron about her origins.
Here’s what she had to say about the New Jersey magazine article:
“I was peeing in my pants laughing (at the magazine). I was like, this is fantastic, to be in such great company (with the others who won the great award).Believe me, people have been asking me about this since I started in the recording industry. My mom was the whitest, alabaster-skinned person you can imagine, but who knows what went on four generations ago? So this mitochondrial DNA test should settle it.”
I really don’t understand why some people think she’s black. Here you can find photo proof of course. The thing we can’t deny is that she makes beautiful music and she has a style that will be remembered for years.
