Peanut Butter Recall 2009

Peanut Butter Recall 2009 - The company “King Nut” has started recalling their peanut butter product after they discovered that an open container was infected with salmonella. And now it is under every one’s eye as the possible source for the salmonella outbreak.

The two brands that are included in the peanut butter recall are “King Nut” and “Parnell’s Pride”. These are products not sold on grocery stores like other brands, but they are given to restaurants, schools and institutions.

According to Reuters: “King Nut said it asked customers to stop distributing all peanut butter with lot codes beginning with the number eight and has canceled orders with the manufacturer, Peanut Corporation of America,”

The mentioned infected container was discovered in Minessota.

The outbreak of salmonella to this day includes nearly 400 people in different states of the country, not only Ohio, where the company is based. This outbreak started back in September, with no source known. This peanut butter recall is an effort to stop more cases, but officials are unsure this is the cause of the outbreak. Remember that a previous outbreak was caused by Mexican peppers, and it took a while to determine it.

If you by chance have a Kin Nut product, return it as part of the peanut butter recall 2009.

Remember, the salmonella outbreak could affect your pet as well. It’s been found in dog biscuits and dog food, where the peanut butter comes from the same plant in Georgia.
