“I Go Crazy” Songwriter Paul Davis Dies at 60
Paul Davis - Sad news for the music biz. The singer and songwriter of the musical hit “I Go Crazy” has passed away at rush Foundation Hospital. He was 60 years old.

Paul Davis had his biggest hit back in 1978 with the song “I Go Crazy” which stayed in the Billboard Top 100 for 40 weeks and was a Top 10 single. Despite the success he had, he was always a simple man, more comfortable at home than under the fame spotlight. Other of his songs include “Ride’em Cowboy” and “Do Right”
“He didn’t set out to be famous and he didn’t relish traveling and touring,” said Art Matthews, past owner of a local radio station. “He was very much a homebody. A nocturnal person who enjoyed people and his music. He was every bit as normal as everyone else whose talent happened to be associated with a high profile industry.”
Matthews said Meridian lost a great talent adding: “None of us are promised a tomorrow. Paul lived his life to the fullest each and every day.”
