The Homicide Report
The Homicide Report (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/homicidereport/) is a blog that is sparking quite some talk on the Web. Why? Because it tells the accounts of every single murder in LA!
The blog is written by Jill Levoy of the LA Times and it is a new ambitious project that let us be witness of the power of the Web 2.0 and the real-time updates the Internet can bring us. I think it is also a great way to bring conscience about the murders and see how they affect people’s lives.
I’ve read some of the posts and they revel a human side to stories, even in what we perceive as “common murders”. It brings us name, faces, facts and let us see that life is not a game.
“The Web offered what the paper did not: unlimited space,” Leovy wrote in a front-page story summarizing her year as creator and the first blogger for The Homicide Report.
