One of the products came from this necessity is the Mileage Master. Many of you may have seen it on “Good Morning America”. It is a tiny divice that attaches to the engine to then improve its mileage.
“I’ve been getting about 42 [miles per gallon] with this car. On a previous car I had it on, I got 60!” said Fred Crane, inventor of the Mileage Master.
What this does is cut the fuel off half the cylinders in the engine when you are driving at more than 35mph.
“I’d like the American public be able to save gas. That’s what I want.
I don’t want the oil companies to buy it off from me. They’ll just throw it away,” said Crane who also claims that people can reduce $100 to $35!
This news is just another example of how can bad things can help us come up with new things. Maybe if the situation woth the gas wasn’t so critical, Crane would have never invented the Mielage Master.
