The New 5 Dollar Bill
There’s a new 5 dollar Hill out there and it’s seriously pimped out! Specially against counterfeiters. The new $5 bill is being marketed to to people as “Safer. Smarter. More Secure”, and well some people say it sounds like a car commercial and I have to agree. At the end is just a 5 dollar bill.
Federal Reserve Board Assistant Director Michael Lambert had a few words about the new bill:
“We must address counterfeit threats with effective designs for our bills that include easy to use security features,” Lambert said. “The features help ensure we stay ahead of counterfeiters and protect your hard-earned money.”
The new watermarks on the bill include a large 5 and a column of three small 5s, they are part of the paper itself, so they can be seen from both sides.
