The Holocaust Video Game for DS

A new game is generating quite some controversy and go figure, it’s not a new GTA game. In fact, it is a game that has not been yet released called: “Imagination is the Only Escape”, or how many call it, the Holocaust video game. The game is about a Jewish boy living in a Nazi occupied France. In this dreadful world, the boy tries to survive using his imagination as an escape to all the madness. As you play in the DS the lower screen shows you Holocaust facts. Nintendo has spoken about the game, saying that they have no plans of publishing it.
Although some may feel the game should not be published. According to its author, Luc Bernard, all the facts will be treated with tact and earnings will be donated to Darfur. A place in Africa that is in crisis.
This game is generating a lot of discussion on the web, some say this moment should be avoided, while others argue with the fact that genocide is still present to this very day, but we don’t see it because TV stations and news omit it.
Does art need to be free, or should we avoid uncomfortable themes that are still happening today? Does it belong to a video game? The conversation is still on, and is raising many questions toward young gamers.
Those were the news on the holocaust video game.
