It seems like things are getting out of hands with violent incidents and alerts.  After yesterday’s alert at Stony Brook University, a new alert has spread rapidly on the Ferrum College in Virginia.

Jennifer Braaten, Ferrum College’s president has ordered a lockdown after a member of the housekeeping staff reported seeing a man carrying a handgun. “Basically, he told the housekeeper not to say anything about it and he continued on,” said Ewell Hunt, county Sheriff.

Besides this, nothing else has been reported, no shots fired, no injuries on anyone.  Everybody’s just being extremely cautious, specially taking into account that the incident in Virginia Tech took place just some miles away.

“No one has been hurt, no one is in a panic mode,” Braaten said at the news conference.

Even since everything started, it’s been madness.  How can you send your kid to college or school in fear that someone might kill him/her?  All the policies, laws and etc are clearly not working and we are entering more and more into a state of paranoia.  And I think we all have responsibility, what do you think?
